Etching
Explore the fundamentals of intaglio printmaking through a six week introduction to etching.
Students will work through a progression of drypoint, spitbite, and aquatint techniques while learning plate preparation, mark making, acid etching, stopouts, inking, wiping, and printing.
The course emphasizes experimentation, technical precision, and developing a foundation for continued independent etching practice.
No previous etching experience is required.

Relief Printmaking
Develop your relief printmaking practice through large format block printing, woodblock techniques, reduction printing, and experimental registration.
Students will begin with an 18 x 24 inch block before progressing to larger scale printing and a multi color reduction project.

Introduction
to Serigraphy: Drawing fluid, screen filler, & Stencil printing
Discover the fundamentals of serigraphy, also known as screen printing, through a hands on exploration of hand cut stencils, drawing fluid, and screen filler.
Students will begin with the most direct form of screen printing by creating a hand cut stencil before progressing into the drawing fluid and screen filler process.
Throughout the course, students will learn how an image is translated into a screen printing stencil, how to prepare and register a screen, how to mix and apply ink, and how to produce consistent prints.
This course is designed for beginners and provides a foundation for continued screen printing practice.

Serigraphy
(SCREEN PRINTing)
Advanced Serigraphy is designed for artists with previous screen printing experience who want to expand their technical and creative approach to screen printing.
The course focuses on photo emulsion, photographic imagery, color separation, halftones, registration, and multi layer printing.

Serigraphy Sundays
Discover the fundamentals of serigraphy (screen printing) using the drawing fluid and screen filler process. In this one-day, hands-on workshop, participants will create a hand-drawn stencil directly on a screen before learning how to prepare, ink, register, and print a two-layer design.
Designed for beginners, this workshop provides an introduction to one of the most direct and expressive methods of screen printing. Each participant will complete a small edition of 10 original two-layer prints while gaining a solid foundation in the serigraphy process.

Stone Lithography: Drawing on Stone & Edition Printing
Discover the traditional art of stone lithography through this intensive four-day workshop. Participants will learn the fundamentals of drawing and printing from Bavarian limestone while gaining an understanding of the unique relationship between grease, water, stone, and ink that makes lithography possible.
Working from hand-drawn imagery, students will learn lithographic drawing materials, image development, stone preparation, etching, proofing, registration, paper preparation, and edition printing. Through demonstrations, collaborative printing, and individualized instruction, participants will complete an edition of approximately 15 black and white lithographs while gaining experience with professional printshop practices and editioning methods.
Enrollment is limited to five participants, allowing for individualized instruction and dedicated access to studio equipment. No prior lithography experience is required.
Previous printmaking experience is helpful but not necessary.

Mar is a Chicanx printmaker based out of Riverside, CA. They have over 10 years of experience in relief, screen printing, and lithography. Mar has a BA in Studio Art from Northeastern Illinois University and studied at University of New Mexico, Tamarind Institute in the Printer Training Program. They are interested in community-based fine art learning and spreading the knowledge of lithography using manual techniques to create finely executed editions.
